DAY 4, July 12, 2012: Dunstan Homestead Preserve to Long Creek
"OchocoChallenge2012" organizer Roger Gaither talks to the caretaker of the Dunstan Preserve as cyclists break camp for another early start.
Following the Middle Fork of the John Day downstream, I had accepted the invitation to put a few of my panniers in the sag wagon in anticipation of one of the tour's most significant climbs.

Arriving in Long Creek, cyclists crowd into a patch of shade outside the motel, waiting for room assignments
Certified Bike Friendly downtown Long Creek .....
.....where they sell fantastic home made ice cream in multiple flavors at the General Store/Cafe
Small town hospitality - Cyclists were invited to relax in a shady back yard while waiting for dinner
Hungry cyclists - We were invited to join the club riders for the buffet dinner they had contracted with the local cafe. This was more good fortune for us, as there was no where else to eat.
As part of the group, we were also welcome to pitch our tent behind the Long Creek Lodge.
